    Ok I know I going to be in for bad times when I ordered the bun (bOOn) with the vietnamese pronunciation and the lady taking the order paused and then said oh you want the bun (BUHN) as if she was talking about the bread that you put a hot dog into. It was bar none the worst bun I have ever had burnt tofu under cooked noodles and a sauce that should have been thrown away. My special lady friend ordered Laksa, I knew she was in for a horrific time when the lady said oh you want LASka. Putting S&B curry powder into a shameful Pho and calling it laksa is like pulling out the inside of a mcrib and calling them spare ribs. I also like how the soup came with a side of soup seriously I dont know. The very guero friendly american chinese dishes are well executed I cant believe I am saying this but, If they dont have it on a panda express menu dont order it here. Stick to things like cashew chicken, orange chicken, and beef and broccoli. Or you will be sad, I know I was. Or better yet come with me to OLD PEKING the only place in town for chinese food. or the Chinese BBQ guy in the front of lee lee oriental market.

    Vegetable Tempura here is pretty good. The Tofu Pad Thai is delicious as well. Be careful ordering anything with chicken though because sometimes it tastes "off." I figured once was just a fluke, twice was strange, and three was a pattern. So, I steer clear of the chicken now. Also, if you're ordering something with mushrooms like my husband did, they might be from a can (it was obvious). The service is great and they're never too busy. I really like that.

    My in-laws go here about once a week because they love it so much. While visiting them on Christmas vacation, we stopped here for lunch to join in one of their favorite activities. They have great lunch specials before 3pm. You get hot tea, an egg roll, a chicken wing, soup, and your main entree all for $7.50 or less. They have a good selection and even offer Vietnamese pho (which was okay). It's a small restaurant with great service.

    All I can say is, what the heck happened between 2010 and now? Seriously. Wonton soup shouldn't resemble dumplings. And why did my scallops taste fishy? How long were those things sitting out?? Service...oh, you'll get service. Maybe it's a cultural difference - they don't speak English well and they can't wait for you to pay and get out.

    I have to update once again this fabulous Asian Restaurant. I say Asian because it is more than Chinese. They have lots of Thai dishes and Japanese as well. My favorite is the Mongolian Tofu dish which has the most delectable fried (gently) tofu ever. We tried a Thai Noodle and shrimp dish which was great. Love when the food comes out steaming hot and fresh. Love the owners and the staff. Clean, clean, clean to boot.

    I'll be honest: I wasn't expecting much given its location and Americanized name, but I was pleasantly surprised. Thought the name might imply Chinese food, they serve a variety of cuisines. I had the green curry chicken and it was delicious. Not too soupy or milky and just the right level of spice (I didn't ask to customize it). I saw dan dan noodles and Beijing duck on the menu which leads me to believe they do Chinese food just fine. Rich's recommendation: green curry chicken. If you're really hungry, go for the lunch specials as they give you lots of food.

    The natural taro boba is amazing! I have to say, out of many Chinese Restaurants I have attended. This would have to be one of the best in town. With great and prompt service, and amazing food. To begin with, this place is close to my work making it super convenient for me to go here here often and have lunch. I was told by one of my friends about this place and hands down, he wasn't joking that it was a great place. The place is sort of hidden but hey like they say, good things are hard to find! The entree I got a was a Vietnamese Bùn special dish with egg roll, pork and shrimp on top of lettuce, bean sprouts, vermicelli noodles and serve with a side of fish sauce and Siracha. The dish really tasted home made, like as if my mom would have cooked it along with great presentation. The entire entree tasted fresh and even the vegetables were fresh and crisp. To end the delicious entree, I had an all natural Taro Boba. That's right ALL NATURAL. Usually boba shops around here use powder or juice for their flavoring. However here they actually get the real fruit and blend it up into the Boba! I can literally taste the little bits of real fruit and that's what I enjoy. Blasting with scrumptious flavor! Overall, I enjoyed this place and will be returning to try out more dishes. The price is pretty decent and it's one of the Chinese Restaurants that I can clearly say. I feel like eating at home!

    Finally! Chinese food to come back to. Tucson is sadly lacking in decent Chinese food, but This place is fresh, delicious, and friendly. We ordered the family style dinner, which comes with a veggie egg roll and pair of fried shrimp per person, plus soup of your choice and an entree for $14.50. The egg drop soup was thick in the most delicious sense - not at all gloopy and tasted super fresh. Those fried shrimp were cooked perfectly with that POP you get from fresh, well cooked shrimp. Egg rolls tasted clean and flavorful (not greasy), as were the condiments that came with them. For entrees we ordered caramel chicken and bang bang shrimp. Again the shrimp was on point but the chicken was disappointingly dry. Next time we'll stick with shrimp or beef entrees. There will definitely be a next time!

    This is the BEST Chinese I have ever had!!! The vegetables are always fresh, the meats are not fatty and not over breaded! The quality is better than some fancy options out there. The ladies who greet and serve you are sweet, fast and the food always comes out steaming hot! My husband and I make this a stop at least every other week. Addicted!

    I ordered the moo goo gai pan which is my fave. Usually. A little too peppery for me. And the chicken tasted like it was warmed up. The accompaniments were all good. But I can't recommend.

    I went here on a whim, an got the Calamari Seaweed Salad for take-out. When I opened that box, WOW, it was beautiful. The calamari was cooked perfectly, and tasted fresh. The woman said to me when I left that next time I came back she'd bet that I would get the same thing.....World I introduce you to the human fortune cookie! Next day...what do you think I got.... The details: friendly helpful staff, clean welcoming atmosphere, affordable and delicious! I strongly recommend this restaurant! And I have no idea why this place would get bad reviews, unless you're an asshole who likes and thinks Panda Express is good.

    We've been here many times for lunch and a couple times for dinner. We prefer to come here for lunch. The service is quick and good and the food is your typical Chinese food. The sweet and sour soup is yummy! For 3 lunch entrees that included soup, veggie egg roll, chicken drummette and entree, it cost $22 with way too much food to eat and we brought a lot home!

    Nice people, good service, and food choices I do like. However, it comes second in my favorite Chinese place to go in upper Tucson. Their lunch deals keep me coming for more whenever I'm in that area. However, I have to say I have had so much better Chinese/Vietnamese/Thai foods in other places. Just that it's hard to find a really really great Chinese tasting restaurant in upper Tucson.

    Solid food, terrific service. We were looking for comfort food after a loooong day. Wifey wanted Chinese, so off we go. Menu looked terrific; pan-Asian. I struggled between ordering a pork dish or the Pho, but wondered how good the Pho could be given the lack of traffic.business here. Went with the Cherry Pork, which wasn't very adventurous, but very well-cooked. Wifey wanted something non-meat and the server made some good recommendations and cobbled together a dish (rice noodles, veggies, fish sauce, a bit of egg...) that was really well-seasoned and delicious. I get the impression that this could become a go-to place if we return and order more adventurously

    Perhaps if I had read the reviews first we may not have come here to eat. The place appears to be nice and relatively clean. I noticed the dust/dirt accumulation on the fake plants on the walls as well as the sticky soy sauce bottle and 'specials' stand on the table. Why can't restaurants learn to wipe off the table supplies? Anyway, on to dinner. We did not get any hot tea nor an offer of such. We were given ice water, which was fine since I would have asked anyway. The menu is wide and varied and included several vegetarian items. I decided on the vegetarian low mien and my husband order the teriyaki chicken. The low mien was nicely cooked and lacked vegetables. The broccoli was so large it was hard to eat and with no knife you had to pick it up and bite off the stems. Overall it was pretty good and came hot to the table. My husband was very disappointed by the teriyaki - as it was BLAND! It was served with white rice and the sauce had little to no flavor. He actually liked my low mien better. The woman working there refilled our water glasses continually and never asked if we needed anything or how the food was. They seemed to do a good take out business as the phone rang and rang and people showed up to pick up food. We were the only ones in the place other than 1 couple. The kitchen is very noisy and we were seated right next to the door leading to the kitchen. Will we go back again - no.

    I was really surprised by this place, as it sounds like most of the other reviewers have been. What I really like about Cheng's (beside the food) is the atmosphere. It's actually very clean and modern, without any of the standard Chinese restaurant chintz. There's not one plastic dragon painted gold, or Great Wall in relief to be found. Thanks for that. I have not been disappointed with any of the menu items I have tried so far. All of the usual suspects are present and accounted for, but each seems to have it's own little difference. A twist for the better. This has quickly become my go-to Chinese/Thai restaurant. If you decide to go yourself, make sure and try the Thai Curry Beef. Amazing.

    I kept telling my mom... "I am pleasantly surprised by this place!". We went here the other day while in the neighborhood (we were going to Kohl's). We were there for lunch so I got the House Chow Mein and my mom got the Scallops and Broccoli. Both came with soup (I got egg drop and she got wonton), a chicken wing, 2 crab puffs, white rice and a spring roll. Positive: I loved the egg drop soup... it is by fair the best I have had in awhile!, I loved the sauce on the scallops and broccoli but wish the portion of broccoli was bigger, the staff was super friendly and we were seated immediately, they gave us free hot tea (my mom said was delicious), the chow mein portion was pretty big for lunch (I even took some home), the prices were pretty reasonable Negative: I didn't like the wonton soup... the broth was not something I liked, I also didn't like that they did not explain on the menu what was in certain dishes or at the very least if it was going to be spicy. Overall I liked it a lot and would totally go back!

    Terrible food. I ordered takeout and it was ready in 5 minutes. Not a good sign. Sesame Chicken was obviously cooked from earlier that day or from frozen bag shit. And the sauce wasn't much better. Totally disgusting and I paid over $10 for it. Will never go back.

    Cheng's Beijing is without a doubt my favorite Chinese food restaurant in Tucson. There might be more innovative or more traditional places out there, but for my money, this place is tops. I love that it has a small front of house staff of 4-5 people, most of whom are Asian, that are all there every time I go. Part of me worries that they never leave the place, but the bigger, more selfish part of me hopes they never do, because everyone on the wait staff is delightful. They're always smiling, and they're ruthlessly efficient. How they can keep a 10 oz glass of water constantly full is beyond me! Complimentary hot tea is offered before every meal, which is a big plus. It's more essential than the fortune cookie in my book. The decor is surprisingly nice. It might just be me, but most other Chinese restaurants are either flooded with dark tones or are just dimly lit. Beijing's interior is actually bright and airy, especially for its size. It's refreshing. None of this matters if the food is no good though, right? Well, as it turns out just about everything on the menu is excellent. Try their Sizzling Rice Soup for starters. It's simple and clean in flavor -- a very nice way to start your meal. It comes in a huge bowl, too, which is great, because by the time you finish it, your entrées will be done. I don't know what it is that they're doing differently, but everything they make tastes a cut above other restaurants' attempts. This is perhaps best illustrated by the Egg Foo Young. I'm not much for Egg Foo Young because it's almost always a greasy, overcooked disappointment. Not the case at Beijing. It's light and fluffy, and the sauce that comes with it sets your umami tastebuds on fire. A definite must have if you're an egg person. I try not to pick something that I've ever had before, but the thing I know I've done multiple times is the Beijing Crispy Duck. When it's time to order, the servers now almost always ask me, "So... duck again?" I love how no-frills the dish is. It's just duck that has been salted, bathed in hot oil, roughly chopped, and served with hoisin sauce and hot mustard on the side. Very simple, but very very good. They apparently have desserts, but I've never tried them, as I don't believe they make them in house, but maybe one day I'll try and maybe they'll surprise me. For now, I'm happy with the aforementioned format. The bill for two people usually ends up being somewhere between $20 and $30, which is quite good for the quality and service. They have a pretty decent lunch rush thanks to their exceptional lunch deals (appetizer, soup, and entrée for just $7.50!), which I definitely recommend if you're just trying the place out for the first time, but I'm confident that it'll soon become a favorite of yours, and then maybe someday the servers will be asking you if you'll be having the duck again.

    Very tasty and unique as Thai, Chinese, and Vietnamese entrees were menu choices. Portions too small for our overeating family (teenagers), but we didn't leave still hungry. The tempura batter was terrific, not overly greasy. Pho was better than average and chow fun had nice flavor. Tricky to get to as address listed on yelp was incorrect. It's really 7705.

    Surely, there is decent chinese food in Tucson? This is not it. Things were off to a rocky start when we were seated in the area where they bag the food for the to-go orders (they do a brisk to-go business). They moved us, and were really nice about it. Things got better with some really good oolong tea and the appetizer, fried tofu. This was the most delicious part of the meal. The tofu was crispy outside, soft inside scattered with sauteed garlic and flavorful little veggies. Though the hot grease squirting out of the tofu made for a scalded eyeball : ) Next, the entrees: Schezuan Scallops and Crispy Duck. I wish we had gone home after the tofu. The duck was cooked until it was only dry hunks of tasteless meat clinging to crackly bones. The scallops - it tasted familiar. I think it was a Trader Joe's frozen dinner. Hey, I like Trader Joe's, but I did not drive all the way to Oro Valley to eat a Trader Joe's frozen dinner. Spicy - ha, this dish had never met a pepper except red bell. The Man and I left sad. With all the great yelp reviews, I really wanted to like Cheng's. Yelpers, I just don't get it.

    Hands down, the best value for lunch in the Oro Valley/North Tucson area. My coworkers and I make sure that we get a weekly fill of this place. The lunch specials menu is very generous. Each lunch special includes an egg roll, rice, a crab wonton, soup, and main dish. All-you-can drink tea is also served. Many of the lunch dishes are prepared stir fried rather than fried, so there are healthier alternatives available. The menu also offers a few Vietnamese dishes, which are pricier, but worth it. This is my go-to place for taking out of towners for lunch.

    Cheng's was pretty good. We read the other reviews and thought why not give it a try? When we arrived the place was packed! Rarely do we have to wait for a table at a Chinese restaurant, but we did here although just a couple minutes. We ordered Soup, Egg Rolls, House Fried Rice and Lemon Chicken. All were pretty good. To top it off the service was excellent. I was very thirsty and my water glass was never empty.

    We've been challenged finding decent Chinese food in Arizona, and this is the first place we've been to that we would go back to. If I were in Tucson again, I would go again. We had the potstickers, hot and sour soup, walnut shrimp and bangkok chicken. My hubby expected the chicken to be spicier. We both loved the shrimp, they were cooked perfectly.

    I've been going to Cheng's for 16 years back when Mr. Cheng had a resturant at the corner of Swan and Speedway. I am a loyal Cheng's customer simply because the food is so good. Mr. Cheng is in his 80's but he still comes in to supervise and even prepare food in the kitchen. He has brought his receipes from the old country. All of Cheng's menu items are excellent, but I'm especially fond of the General Tso's chicken, the sesame chicken and the crab puffs. The house special fried rice is tops!. If your looking for traditional cantonese cuisine without all the modern add ons then Cheng's is the place to go. Cheng's new location on Oracle Rd. is approx. 16 miles from where I live, but even if he moved his resturant to Sierra Vista, I'd drive the distance for Cheng's!

    Great Chinese food at a great price. The lunch special is an amazing deal and you get so much food. We have gone multiple times and every time the food is delicious. Veggies are fresh and crisp, sauces are flavorful and the meat is never fatty (the General Tso's is amazing and is made with all white meat which is a huge bonus). The service is a little slow (I have only ever seen 2 waitresses at a time) but I would rather wait for good Chinese food than get a quick subpar meal. There is something on the menu for everyone as it is huge. I wish I could make it this good at home.

    Steer clear of the dish I had! I was so impressed when I walked in because some of the employees were so friendly and helping each other out. There were Chinese businessmen enjoying a meal and Cantonese-speaking chefs. The bathroom is one of the nicest decorated bathrooms I have been to in awhile. The environment is nice. However, I only ordered the noodles (Dan Dan, to be specific) and it was so awful that I couldn't even stand to get something else because I didn't want anything else coming out of the kitchen. It looked pretty but the chicken tasted like what I envisioned square meat spam dog food (though this dish is usually ground pork) and the mushrooms were canned and very overpowering. The price was alright $7.95 for a dinner portion. The noodles were thick and chewy but the dish did not have any spice. I ate the noodles but everything on top of it was disgusting. I was definitely craving a Lean Cuisine every this; it reminded me of that actually.

    I'm not sure just what to call this place; Beijing, Cheng's Beijing, Cheng's Fine Restaurant. Whatever it is, they have decided that the name is not as important as quality. And quality is something of which they have plenty. May I suggest they name their restaurant, "Fresh n Good", or maybe "Well Prepared", uuuh.... "Outstanding Food From the Far East"?... wait a minute, how 'bout, "Freakin Good n Fresh Food - Come n Get It". Yeah, that's it. The Vietnamese dishes are what I really like about this place. Miss Saigon, please sit down, Mr. Cheng is on the job. The vermicelli dish, or "Bun" with grilled pork is mind blowing. The pork is center cut loin, no fattiness and is soooo tender. The veggies are fresh and plentiful, but not overwhelming. PIenty-o-Crushed Peanuts! I like to get the Vietnamese Imperial rolls thrown on top. Mmmmmama. The crab puffs (or Crab Rangoon as they are not wont to call them) appear to be homemade rather than the old stand-by Sysco or Ben E. Keith product. We have tried many dishes here and not one has disappointed. There are so many to try, we have yet to taste their Pho. Everything else, so far is ALL good. Prices are reasonable and the service is attentive and friendly. Please go check them out. They never seam to be real busy, and that kinda worries me. Don't let this excellent place fall just because the neighbors are too lazy to get out and explore new cuisine. There is something for everyone here. Pony up, People. UPDATE REGARDING SLOW BUSINESS: My wife and I visit Cheng's mostly during the week, and maybe we just happen to hit it during slow hours. However, we were told recently by the owner that they do a brisk business Thursday through Sunday. Apparently those lazy neighbors I spoke of are in fact visiting Chengs on the weekends. They said lunch is also a busy time, and described their lunch-hour offerings that sounded delicious and generous. We are very glad to hear that Chengs is doing so well.
